China's Xi congratulates South Korea's new President Lee

Chinese President Xi Jinping congratulated South Korea's new President Lee Jae-myung on Wednesday, state media reported, after he won snap elections triggered by his predecessor's disastrous martial law declaration.

"Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory message to South Korean President-elect Lee Jae-myung," state news agency Xinhua said.
