Peter Haas joins Excelerate Energy as strategic advisor

Former US Ambassador to Bangladesh, Peter D Haas, has been appointed as the Strategic Advisor to US-based Excelerate Energy, the company announced in a press release on Tuesday. He is set to join the company’s Washington, DC, office in October.

Haas, who retired from the US Foreign Service on September 27 after 33 years of service, brings extensive diplomatic experience spanning Asia, Europe, and North Africa. His most recent role was as US Ambassador to Bangladesh.

Throughout his State Department career, Haas held key positions, including acting Assistant Secretary of State for Economic and Business Affairs, Consul General in Mumbai, and Deputy Permanent Representative to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). He has also served at US embassies in London, Rabat, Berlin, and Port-au-Prince.
