JMM supporting Rohingya and Bangladeshi infiltration in Jharkhand: Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday criticized the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) in Jharkhand, accusing the party of supporting Rohingya and Bangladeshi infiltrators. Speaking at a rally in Jamshedpur, Modi claimed that infiltration was the state's biggest issue, with serious implications for local demographics and security.
“In Santhal Pargana, the Adivasi population is decreasing rapidly. Lands are being grabbed, and infiltrators are taking over positions in Panchayats. Crimes against daughters are rising. Every Jharkhandi feels unsafe because of the infiltrators,” Modi said, according to Hindustan Times.
Modi accused the JMM of aligning with Bangladeshis and Rohingyas, claiming that these infiltrators were gaining influence within the party. "This has happened because the ghost of Congress has entered the JMM. When Congress influences any party, appeasement becomes their main agenda, and they form vote banks based on religion,” he added.
The prime minister further expressed concerns over the JMM’s denial of infiltration in the state, despite a Jharkhand High Court order calling for an independent panel to investigate the issue. “The demography of Santhal Pargana and Kolhan is changing rapidly due to Bangladeshi and Rohingya infiltration," Modi said, as reported by ANI.
He went on to label the JMM, Congress, and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) as “enemies of Jharkhand,” accusing the Congress of stalling the development of backward, Adivasi, and Dalit communities. Modi further alleged that the JMM exploited Adivasi votes for political gain while supporting those who "took over Adivasi lands."
“It’s time to bid farewell to JMM, which looted mines, minerals, and Army land. Congress' school of corruption has trained the JMM government,” PTI quoted Modi as saying.
