Two defamation cases filed against Bashundhara chairman, MD Two defamation cases were filed on Sunday against 10 people including Bashundhara Group chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan and his son and group’s Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir.
Diamond World Managing Director Dilip Kumar Agarwala brought Tk10 billion defamation charges with the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Arfatul Rakib while former President of Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) Enamul Haque Khan Dolon filed Tk1 billion defamation case with the same court.
The court after recording the statement of the complainant in the case filed by Agarwala, summoned accused to appear before the court. It also asked Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) to investigate the matter in case filed by Dolan.
The other accused in the cases are- Bangladesh Pratidin Editor Naem Nizam, acting Editor Abu Taher, Kaler Kantho Editor Hasan Hafiz, Executive Editor Haider Ali, East-West Media Group CEO Yasin Pavel, Manager Abu Tayyab, Bangladesh Pratidin reporter Ruhul Amin Russel, Kaler Kantho special correspondent Ripnul Hasan Ripon.
